ZOOLOGY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Department of Zoology, University of Calicut
The Zoology Alumni Association, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, has been inaugurated on 28th July 2001 by Dr. K. Krishnakumar, Head of the Department of Mathematics. The meeting was presided over by Dr. U. V. K. Mohamed, Head of the Department of Zoology. A total of 65 members attended the meeting and took the membership.
The first programme organized by the Association was Dr. K. G. Adiyodi Memorial Lecture, in association with Indian Society for Invertebrate Reproduction, on 7th November 2002. In the same year an All-Kerala Essay competition has been conducted for college students
Currently, the estimated strength of Zoology Alumni Association is as follows:
- Ph. D. completed: 199
- M. Phil. completed: 186
- M. Sc. completed: 46 batches
Endowment constituted:
Prof. K. J. Joseph Endowment Award for best outgoing student from M. Sc. Applied Zoology final examination. Instituted in the year 1989 with a corpus fund of Rs. 50,001/-.

| The General Body Meeting of Zoology Alumni Association for the year 2021 was held on 09. 01. 2021 at 7.30pm to 10.00pm through online mode in Google meet platform (Meeting URL: google.meet.com/zcs-dout-qzk). Secretary welcomed the members to the general body meeting of Zoology Alumni Association. All members of the alumni and faculty, who present in the meet, did self introduction. Dr. M. Gokuldas, President, chaired the programme and briefed about the history and mission of the association. All members actively participated in the discussions regarding the activities and future plans of the Association. |
